Body–Mind–Spirit Holistic Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness- and Compassion-Based Psychotherapy in Health Research
Dear Colleagues,
This Special Issue, titled “Body–Mind–Spirit Holistic Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness- and Compassion-Based Psychotherapy in Health Research,” aims to explore integrative psychological frameworks that bridge ancient wisdom and contemporary science.
Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy integrates present-moment, non-judgmental awareness with evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help individuals transform their relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations—thereby reducing distress associated with anxiety, depression, and other forms of psychological suffering. Compassion-Based Psychotherapy draws on cognitive behavioral therapy, evolutionary and social psychology, developmental science, Buddhist psychology, and neuroscience to cultivate self-compassion and compassion for others, offering a powerful pathway to emotional healing and resilience. Body–Mind–Spirit Holistic Psychotherapy, alongside mindfulness- and compassion-based approaches, plays a vital role in advancing health research by addressing the interconnected dimensions of human experience.
We welcome submissions from diverse perspectives, including psychology, psychiatry, medicine, neurobiology, psychoneuroendocrinology, cognitive and behavioral sciences, cultural studies, philosophy, spirituality, and wisdom traditions.
We look forward to your contributions.
